I Was There When She Died

I was there when she died. She looked peaceful, as if she drifted away to sleep…and I think a part of me – a Cuba-sized part of me- died too. The image of her gasping for breath will not go away. But what clings to me even more is the grief I feel about what she felt. I was there when she died and I am still hurting from it very much just like you are.
