My Trout

There is a regional slang in which
someone may call someone
with whom he is acquainted
“my trout” (or “me trout”).

“Me oul’ trout”
and “sound as a trout”
are used here (Ireland)
to describe a dependable person.

Perhaps it’s related
to the Arcadian (transplanted
to Louisiana cajun) “ma tout.”
Clifton Chenier had a Zydeco song
called “Ma Tout Tout.”

“It is my own fault,” said Ruiz.
“I cast my trout fly without truth,
and it came back and
struck me because
there was no truth in my hand.”

Jamie in Brooklyn (search phrase “my trout”)

We quite enjoyed You are entering, a list poegle that takes us to some curious places. We were surprised to learn that “pseudotumor cerebri support network” is a real thing- and it doesn’t sound like fun. This poegle is a great example of the simplest of poegles forms- the list poegle. It mashes up results based on a common search phrase- we enjoyed the jarring combinations.

Here’s the poegle for your enjoyment and edification:

You are entering

A world of sight and sound!
A world of pain;
The comfort zone;
The business world;
A highway or street from a private driveway and the way is clear.

A world of sight and sound!
The temple domain;
A restricted area;
A no spin zone;
A new age of redundancy. Beware.

Menopause. Hell.
Egypt, from which you came.
A quarantine area.
A gay- and lesbian-free zone.
A period of intense bodily, mental, and spiritual transformation.

Heavy horror metal!
An easily hackable page.
My digital metamorphosis.
The lair of Sluggy X.
A dangerous area, and the possibility of injury or death is real.

A world of sight and sound!
A distribution maze;
